Talk Pregnancy With Doctor Noella

Launching Preconception Care Day – July 31, 2025

Theme: “Assessing Your Health Risk Before Pregnancy”

We join with the Ministry of Public Health Cameroon through the North West Regional Delegation of Public Health to improve maternal health through Preconception Care.

Every journey to motherhood deserves a healthy start and it begins long before conception. As we celebrate Preconception Care Day on July 31, 2025, we invite individuals, families, health professionals, and community leaders to come together for a powerful cause: raising awareness on the importance of health before pregnancy.

Why Preconception Care Matters

Too many women and couples enter pregnancy without knowing their health risks — risks that could be identified and managed before conception. Preconception care empowers individuals to:

  • Identify and manage chronic conditions
  • Address nutritional deficiencies
  • Prevent birth defects
  • Plan safer, healthier pregnancies
  • Reduce maternal and neonatal complications

This year’s theme, “Assessing Your Health Risk Before Pregnancy,” reminds us that a healthy baby begins with a healthy you.

What to Expect on Preconception Care Day 2025

To mark this vital day, we have planned an exciting lineup of free and impactful activities across several communities:

Free Health Screening
Blood pressure checks, blood sugar, BMI, hemoglobin, and other essential tests for women and men of reproductive age.

Personalized Health Risk Assessment
Participants will receive tailored feedback on their readiness for a healthy pregnancy and tips to optimize their health.

Radio Talks
We’ll be live on major radio stations, bringing expert voices to discuss the importance of preconception care and share real-life stories.

Community Engagement & Sensitization Campaigns
Our trained health volunteers and professionals will take the message to markets, churches, and homes making sure no one is left behind.

Join Us and Make This Day Meaningful

We believe everyone has a role to play in reducing maternal and newborn deaths. Whether you’re a health professional, a community leader, a youth advocate, a father, or a mother-to-be your voice matters.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Join our community outreach teams
  • Help share our radio segments and social media messages
  • Invite others to come for free screening and risk assessments
